Pink Smog

I've found love, and her name is Weetzie Bat.

Usually prequals worry me a little, especially ones written a long time after the first book was released, because I'm afraid they might change the way I fell about characters I love so dearly.Change is good, but it also frightens me. Alot
However, I had so much faith in Francesca's ability as a writer, and I knew to stay true to the spirit of Weetzie, so I was very, very excited to read this book. What I didn't expect, and nor was I prepared for Francesca to make me love Weetize even more (if that was even possible). I can't wait to pick up Dangerous Angels again, now that I know so much more about how she became the slinkster cool punk pixie that made me want to start writing again.

Weetzie Trip

"Weetzie and My Secret Agent Lover Man and Dirk and Duck and Slinkster Dog and Fifi's canaries lived happily ever after in their silly-sand-topped house in the land of skating hamburgers and flying toupees and Jah-Love blonde Indians."
Francesca Lia Block

I'm going on a Weetzie trip again whilst waiting for my new books to arrive from fishpond.com. I'm sad that Borders is closing down, but I can't justify spending what little money I have on books I can get so much cheaper on the net, or from more sustainable sources (see Better World Books). But enough of that. Let us indulge in the slinkster cool desert beauty that is Weetzie Bat.
