So lonely so pretty such a lack of diplomacy

So i'm just chilling at home by myself listening to Phoenix :D man i love those french lovlies they make me wanna dance on clouds. Oh and I'm doing a very good job of avoiding homework because i really have no interest in it at all :P So phoenix and blogs help that.

Whats been happening this side of the looking glass? Words, wonders, the boosh, 1:30 am kaluahs, booty calls, shiny disco balls. Miss B and I went to the Black Cat last night with some friends from uni (the best thing to come out of that institution :P) and got mighty drunk :) then we came home to have our own drunken dance party in our living room, that was interrupted by an unwanted 8 legged visitor :S now miss B and i are not the girliest of girls, but we do not deal well with spiders with their long legs crawling towards us and their eyes watching us always watching *run away* but we are still alive.

Hmmmm...im off to make a pot of tea and create something :)

Peace and Love the life your in

I can't see what anyone can see in anyone else buuuut youuuuuuu

It's true you know. But you will never know never ever ever you dope.

Tired. Can't Concentrate. Dreaming about cupcakes. Sitting. Waiting. Wishing. Ripping off Jack Johnson. Mmmmm Conor Oberst. Milk Thistle Milk Thistle. Vintage. Green. Insect Wings. Shiny Things. Everything is suspended. When is it going to fall??! On my head. Like you care. Care Care Care. Grizzly Bear. Disco Pig. Blue. Sunshine blue. Windshield. Blue windshield. Goodbye windshield.

They are all connected. Figured it out yet? Signing off, signing out, from a logical land.

Cupcakes, Coffee and Contemplation

Greetings from the other side. It is tuesday; tuesday is family day, tuesday is sally gets to use the internet day, tuesday is pub day. Tuesday is also cupcake day and coffee day as of today :D as i discovered the cutest cupcake bakery hiding in plain site at melbourne central! All tuesdays before shall pale in comparison because they are cupcakelsess :P

Something else i also discovered hiding in plain site:
Human beings really are ridculous creatures if you think about it. I've spent the last three years studying animals intensively, and so when i take a step back and look at humans as a species, i think "wow, how the hell did we get to the top of the food chain". I know our brains are highly evolved and we can use tools and solve complicated maths problems and stuff like that, but in terms of our emotions, some of them really have no evolutionary advantage. This sounds kind of odd, but really, if humans were going to take into account their own survival, there would be no use for compassion, or guilt, or jealousy - its all useless really in terms of survival, but things like compassion and love are so so so important for us to survive. Therefore, i think that science can not be the only thing that governs a human beings emotions - thats why i believe in fate, or at least some sort of higher force (not God, i don't believe in the restrictions of the Chrisitian God), but something else, something bigger. I'm a scientist, but i dont believe that science has all the answers.

Ive been spending waaay to much time daydreaming at uni haha!

Cupcakes and Coffee!

The girl i knew

She is looking for direction, she is searching for the truth; she is outgoing and incredibly shy, depending on who she is with and what is flowing through her viens; she is opinionated and indifferent, she is passionate but afraid, and she is clever and but oh so stupid sometimes; she is ambitious, but directionless. she wish she knew what she wanted, but she likes the freedom of not knowing, because it gives her an exuse to act like she doesnt give a shit. But really, she gives a shit. she just can't let anyone know how much she actually cares, about them, about this, about anyone

a royal fucker yeah?
nah.
she's just a kid

B is for Bonjah, Beats and Beer

To ad the spontaneousness of my new life direction, Miss B and I decided to take a roadtrip one evening.....to Ballarat (for those of you who are not aware, it is a semi country town 2 hours drive from Melbourne. Now, you may ask, at 5:45 on a thursday evening after a whole day of uni (and by whole day i mean brunching in the morning at 'The Local' before going to class for 3 hours), why the hell would you want to do that? Well! I have one word for you, dear reader.

BONJAAAAAAAAAAAH!
yeh
So, we embarked on our adventure with a fabulous mix of obnoxiously happy 90's tunes, watching the lights go by along the Westgate, yelling at bad drivers and gradually being able to see the stars again :)

We reached the township of Ballart despite my directions :P yet, where was this elusive Karova lounge ?????!!! After much driving around and directions from Master T via telepathy we found it hiding out on camp street *giggle* to find that we were seriously early and that Bonjah were in the middle of doing sound check :D so we rocked out outside the place with the friendly security guard, and Miss B continued our reputation as serial band and musician freaks by scaring the bass player by sticking her head through the window while they were playing. Hehe
But yes, the Karavoa lounge turned out to be an excellent surprise :) it was like a cross between the Corner Hotel and Ruby's Lounge, with the best bits of both, and it appeared that all of Ballarats cute indie guy with good taste in music population had congregated there that night to drink beer and dance and have fun :) so after a bit of duck hunting (not the literal kind), Miss B and I spotted some of the band members milling aroud the crowd :) and after some shy glances and mental squeeing we made the resolve to talk to them before the night was out.
Needless to say, the concert was awesome...i needed a few beers but soon i was rocking out and dancing like a spaz like the rest of them (now really, who was going to know me in Ballarat?) to the slammin slinkster cool beats of Bonjah.

The set finished, and, red faced and sweaty from the beer and dancing, it was time to fullfil our mission. We sat sheepishly near the band entrance for a while, so entranced by the possibility of meeting them, Miss B didnt notice the seriously cute tech guy that kept shooting glances her way (he was quite a scrumptious biscuit). Miss B bought their EP and thanks to my alcohol fuelled confidence, got 3 members, including yummy lead singer Glenn to sign it for her :D :D we chatted and drank, our mission fullfilled. But there was still the unfinished buisness with cute tech guy, who continued to direct his eyes and smiles in our direction. With beer confidence still circulating in my veins, i convinced Miss B to leave her number next to his tech stuff.....we decided to keep the illusion of mystery, because there is nothing more dissapointing than pointless small talk.

All in all it was a very good adventure, and it was about to get better....after bailing from the Karova giddy with beats beer and Bonjah at about 12:30 am we started to make the long trip back to Melbourne :( We stopped at the servo about halfway home to buy pringles and iced coffee to stop Miss B from falling asleep at the wheel, which turned out to be a fabulous idea because who did we see passing us on the highway? only the Bonjah tour van!!!!!!! :D:D:D Our band freak status was elevated as we followed them most of the way home, full of giggles and obnoxiously upbeat music, and in all our excitement got lost and didn't make it home until 3 in the morning -_- But, as you can see it was totally worth it :D

So, yes, it was much much slammin' fun, and i can't wait to do it all again next week for the Basics :) Be prepared for the serial band freaks, Karova Lounge, we may make you our new 'Local'!!

Brunchgasms :)

Today began with brunch with the fabulous Miss B (short for Ruby) down an alley on Bourke street, during which I had my first ever omlette :) it was deliciously yum but i could only eat about half because I'm not used to such rich food. But hooray for expanding food horizons :D thenwe went on to buy random crap from the reject shop to amuse our erratic attention spans :P including $2.50 tamagotchis to amuse ourselves in class.... so far mine has died 3 times: And they want me to take care of real animals for a living?

Thoughts:

Time spent at uni these days is time wasted. Day dreaming is more fun and productive - i need to exercise my imagination. :P
Saw a guy reading music from a script book and conducting with a pen on the train...it made me wish i was in some way musically talented. He had really nice shoes ( i always notice peoples shoes) and really big hair, the kind of hair you could hide secrets in...or small pets hehe

Favourite quote of the day: Make my tamagotchi do a shit!!!! Bahahaha

Favourite book passage for the day: "My pain is ugly, Angel Juan. I feel like I have so much ugly pain," says Witch Baby in a dream. "Everyone does," Angel Juan says. "My mother says that pain is hidden in everyone you see. She says try to imagine it like a big bunch of flowers that everyone is carrying around with them. Think of your pain like a big bunch of red roses, a beautiful thorn necklace. Everyone has one."Witch Baby - Francesca Lia Block <3>
