Because We're Dead
I would like very much for my life to be a Slow Club song. They are my new music fixation.

We went to their gig at the Empress (my new favourite venue for live music, assuming it doesn't get shut down by our ridiculously out of touch government) and it was brilliant, their harmonies were flawless and they were standing so close to us I could have reached out and touched them (sadly i don't think Charles would have reciprocated my affection). Anyway i could swoon on for a number of paragraphs but i think you should just listen to them. Go on. Do it.
Oh, and im also going to learn how to play the drums. Yeaah.
Recipe File of Delicious Baked Goodness
Baking is good for the soul and it cures my boredom. When I'm older, I'm going to have a book and music shop that serves delicious baked goods that I make myself. So I'm practicing, much to the delight of friends and family. Nom Nom Nom.
Raspberry and White Chocolate Scones
Ingrediants:
4 cups (600g) self raising flour
3 Tbsp icing sugar
60g butter
3/4 cup (180ml) water
1 1/2 cups (375ml) milk
1/ 1/2 cups of frozen raspberries
1 cup of white chocolate buttons
Method:
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C and grease the pan
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, icing sugar and using the tips of your fingers, rub the butter into the flower mixture until it forms a breadcrub like consistancy
Make a well in the flour mixture and pour in the water and milk. Use a knife to cut the water and milk into the flour mix, so it forms a sticky dough. Add the frozen raspberries.
On a well floured surface, knead the dough until nice and smooth. Using your fingers, press the dough out to about 2 to 3 hours thickness.
Dip a scone cutter into flour, and cut out as many scones as you can until there is no dough left.
Bake the scones for approx 15 mins until they are nicely browned. Serve with double cream and Raspberry Jam.
Makes 16 to 20

Combine the sugar, flour, milk and vanilla essence in a mixing bowl and mix with an electric mixer until smooth (or by hand if you wanna build up your arm muscles haha)

Falls Festival Oh Nine Oh Yeah (Yeah Yeahs)

Sorry. That was lame.
So we are back from the epic photo tour slink slamming dance party drunk fest adventure in Tasmania; I've been back for a little while but havent been able to blog until now. Let me just say, it was probably the best fucking New Years I've ever had...i shall show you why (I went extremely snap happy so prepare for an overload of visual stimuli!)
Our journey began with a ridiculously early flight on the adorable Regional Express Airlines (or as i like to call it TINY PLANE!!) haha We then drove from the airport in our awesome spacious rental car down to Launceston to stay with the lovely Cath and her extremely hospitible parents and pets. We swam at Cateract Gorge, at lots and lots of delicious food, shopped at Chickenfeed and came up with various ridiculous yet feasible ways to smuggle in alcohol to Marion Bay.
Then we packed up the cars, piled in and drove 3 hours down the coast to the pituresque Marion Bay. We were all pretty much packin' it on the way in, I myself was convinced we were going to be kicked out for trying to smuggle in alcohol, but by some divine miricle, we got in with no trouble and much relief. Now I have to say that Falls Fest at Marion Bay was probably the best festival I've been to, in, well ever!!! There was hippy markets, gormet food (although my diet was dominated by dagwood dogs for the three days), and some of the best freakin bands I have ever seen. We danced, drank, danced some more, drank some more, stalked Yves Klein Blue, took lots of random photos, it was just brilliant.
Highlights:
Sarah Blasko: Brilliant as always, adorable to a T and her dancing is the best (I'm currently taking lessons from her via videoclips on youtube). Oh, and being sprayed by the giant hose in the mosh was a god send.
Art Vs. Science: These guys went off; they played Parles Vous Francis and the place went balistic! Sooo much fun. Check out the inflatable whales for Flippers. Lol.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Karen O is a badass goddess, best countdown ever. Love. Love. They played Maps, and I got shivers (it was 38 degrees. Yeah.)
Yves Klein Blue: Fuck they're good. The set had awesome raw energy, and we were right up the front of the mosh so got a good look at Michael (mmmm) and then we got photos with him after! A highlight of my life so far <3
Emiliana Torrini: Gorgeous. I want to move to Iceland.
Lisa Mitchell: I have to say I have quite a girl crush on her. Funniest thing was when she abused some guy for throwing dollars at her during Coin Laundry. Love it.
Editors: Epic.
Lighting Storm: Even more epic. I think most people enjoyed that more than Midnight Juggz
Running into my cousins during Yacht Club DJ's while we were all plastered and being hit on by their friend HILarious.
Dagwood dogs, hippy stalls, Hari Krishnas, Water, and not being washed out. It was too cool.
Downers:
The Heat: Sooo sunburnt. I still have tan lines
Jellyfish at the beach : Ouch!
Drunk Bogans jumping on peoples tents: Do I need any more reasons to hate men? No, but there is another one.
Toilet lines: Makes me wish I was a man.
However, on the whole, it was awesome, and if I wasn't going to be in South America this New Years, I would so go back. What's the bet Tori will headline -_-

The rest of the trip was pretty cruisy, which was great cos we needed to recover. It involved chillin in Launceston (there's not a lot to do in Launceston :p, they do have some interesting cults though (haha) and a weird kind of night life), a raspberry farm with the best cheesecake I've ever had, a cheese factory (they actually managed to make Wasabi and cheese go well together. Mmmm cheese) with multi coloured mosaic cows and of course, the chocolate factory (fudge!), before flying home from Burnie at about 6am the next day (-_-)
So, in conclusion, this Tassie Trip was probably one of the best times of my life so far, and worth every dime :)

The Dog Days Are Over
So I had an epiphany the other day (every now and then a little lightbulb switches on in my head when i discover something new; it kinda reminds me a video game - everytime i make an important discovery about my life, i turn on a switch and it opens new doors and takes me to the next level)
Instead of looking at all the stuff I don't have, I'm going to look at all the stuff I do have. Which really is alot.
I've also realised that being hurt by people is probably the worst thing that could happen to me, except you know maybe being hit by a car or getting cancer, and I already know what that feels like so I am free from the fear of being rejected, trampelled, laughed at and forgotten, because it doesn't really matter anymore compared to what I could gain and what I could be.
So I would seen out a big open thankyou to all the people that hurt me, because now the world doesnt seem such a scary place anymore. Now I'm just fine and dandy.
Problem is, I cannot write when I am so happy. So what do I do?

When You Were 21
So it was my birtday last monday! I am now officially 21 years old. Eeeep. I feel old and young at the same time, but i don't really fit in either category, so I'm just wandering around in the limbo of the 20 something.
Having said that, I had the best day. I woke up at 10:30 (yay for sleep in!). Then Miss B and Master T took me to Sassafrass to see the Oracle, and then we went to Miss Marples for lunch, where I had the best soup and the most amazing sundae EVER! Think Buttercotch icecream with honeycomb and caramel sauce, topped with a mountain of whipped cream. Mmmmmm. Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my keyboard.
From there we proceeded to frolick around the grounds of Sassafrass, roaming the forest like wild things in B's car, touching trees and laughing along to Lady GaGa. They then dropped me off at my parents house, where my mum cooked my a lovely homemade meal (Man i missed her food), and proceeded to spoil me rotten.
Oh and thennnnnn, Saturday night I had my birthday party, which was, if i do say so myself, pretty damn awesome fun. I got to see all my family from inter-state, me and Ele baked our asses off during the day, and then drank and danced the night away. The theme was "When you were young", which has a special significance to me and some members of team awesome (:D) and nearly everyone dressed up, beer, wine and champagne flowed forth, and a photo war commenced as a result. Here are some of the casualties.
